Fruit & Vegetable Fresh Keeper 1-Methylcyclopropene/1-MCP
Introduction:
1-MCP is the most outstanding fresh-keeping agent in recent years. It is widely used in
agriculture in many developed countries. It is testified that using the fresh-keeping agent
"1-MCP" before synthesis of ethylene within the fruit,1-MCP can pre-empt these ethylene
receptors and prevent the formation of ethylene receptor compound, i.e. block up the
transmission of ethylene-induced signal. And thus slow down physiological and biochemical
reactions such as ripening and senescence in fruits and vegetables, delay fruit ripening
and aging, to keep the fruit, vegetable and flowers fresh.
Method of use:
Dissolve 1 gram 1-MCP with 20ml warm water in a cup, put the cup in the room then leave
the room and close the door. Door and window are sealed. Dissolved in water it will release
a kind of gas, this gas will act on fruit. The time should be controlled not less than 8 hours.
The Application Method:
Application for Powder:
First calculate the volume of storage sites (m³).
According to the ambient temperature, space size and pre-processing time to calculate
the suitable dosage.
Pour the powder into a cup (1 g/cup), fix it in corresponding position, then add 30 ~ 40 ml
of water into the cup and quickly seal storage room and fumigate.
Application for Tablet:
The tablets are generally used in the box packing a small amount of fruit and vegetable.
The box must be sealed, or inside a thick plastic liner. When carrying out fumigation,
sealing the the lining is OK.
Fill the box with fruits and vegetables fully, wrap the tablet in napkin or cotton
(should not be too thick, or else affect the release of efficient 1-MCP gas). And then
wet the tablet with water quickly and put it in the box and immediately sealed box or lining.
Application for Appropriate crops:
Fruits:banana, apple, pear, apricot, peach, persimmon, Hami melon, plum, nectarine, kiwi,
cherry, red bayberry, gourd is a fruit, dates, avocados, grapes, mangoes, papayas, passion
fruit, strawberry, pineapple, guava and so on
Vegetables: tomatoes, lettuce, celery, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, lily, onion, Chinese toon,
beans, broad beans, peas, broccoli, asparagus, parsley, cucumber, onion, garlic sprouts,
(blue, red) peppers, artichokes, cowpea, sweet corn, Flammulina, etc..
Flowers:
a) Cut flowers: roses, lilies, carnations, orchids, hibiscus, tulip, pansy, bluebells flower, six
flowers genus, Antirrhinum majus, Po Yung wood, Campanula, Delphinium, Dianthus, Gypsophila
paniculata , violet, butterfly orchids, blue hydrangeas, roses and so on.
b) Potted flowers: Miniature Rose, modern roses, Schlumbergera, winter Begonia, Campanula
grass, hibiscus, Ixora, petunia, butterfly orchids, geranium and so on.
